Even without the mountain of bad reviews I've read I could have guessed that this franchise and this director were not a good mix. You should really check out the cartoon, John. Its got charm to spare, but it also gets pretty intense, and even a little creepy in places, as the overall plot moves along. And the ways they come up with to combine martial arts and bending are pretty awesome to watch.Davidnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3242119768707068917.post-24607744185259041342010-07-09T11:22:39.095-04:002010-07-09T11:22:39.095-04:00I was with him up through The Village, which I act...I was with him up through The Village, which I actually loved as much as the earlier films. I could barely sit through Lady in the Water, and never saw The Happening.

Did he write the screenplay for Airbender? His movies always "look" great, and I think maybe he either needs to let go of the story telling for a while, or find some new collaborators. He still shoots incredibly beautiful films...Kimbernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3242119768707068917.post-28085313975632320552010-07-04T10:24:54.487-04:002010-07-04T10:24:54.487-04:00Yeah, that clip had more humor and energy than the...Yeah, that clip had more humor and energy than the entire film. I've watched it through twice.

I mean, one of the charms of the show is that Aang (pronounced correctly when rhyming with "bang"... not "bong" like in the movie) is a goofy kid with a goofy name that makes stupid jokes and doesn't really want to be a hero... because he just wants to be a kid. It's great.

I'm tired of serious heroes.

At least Zuko seems to be intact.Jaimie Teekellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07845537262456320501noreply@blogger.com
